    Development Services Department

    1. Building & Safety Department

      The mission of the Adelanto Building and Safety Department is to protect the lives and safety of the residents and visitors of Adelanto, preserve the City's quality of life, and contribute to the City's economic development.

    2. Engineering & Public Services

      The Public Works Department of the City of Adelanto is responsible improving the quality of life of the community by overseeing of the design, installation and maintenance of all City owned building, streets and drainage improvement, and all parks and publicly maintained streetscapes.

    The City of Adelanto Finance Department handles all accounts receivable, accounts payable, utility billing, General Ledger, Treasury, and payroll for the City of Adelanto, the City of Adelanto Redevelopment Agency, The Adelanto Water Authority, and the Adelanto Public Utilities Authority.

    1. Enterprise Systems Catalog

      Approved on October 11, 2015, SB 272 adds a section to the California Public Records Act requiring local agencies to create a catalog of Enterprise Systems by July 1, 2016 with annual updates.

  6. Water Water & Sewer

    The Adelanto Water Department, through the Adelanto Public Utility Authority (APUA), is charged with providing safe, good quality, uninterrupted water at a reasonable pressure, to meet health and fire protection needs of that portion of the city served by the public water system. The Department must operate and maintain the water utility system in accordance with the City of Adelanto’s ordinances and policies and the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safe Drinking Water Act.

    3. Clean & Show Form

      A Clean and Show is a service provided to Real Estate Agencies that are preparing a home for sale. Clean and Shows are not available to property managers, home owners, or any individual agents. The service is required to be established in the agency's name only. A copy of the Listing Agreement or Assignment Agreement must be presented before the service activation.

    5. Disconnecting / Terminating Service

      All requests for turn-off can only be made by the named account holder. Service is typically terminated same-day. There is a 6-8 week processing on all terminated accounts. Your deposit will be credited against your final balance.

    6. Establishing New Service

      The City of Adelanto requires that all customers complete an application, provide proof of residence (Deed of Trust or Rental Agreement) and identification, and pay the required establishment fee and deposit before service can be established.

    8. Water Efficiency

      In response to the ongoing drought in California, the State has imposed mandatory restrictions on outdoor landscape irrigation.

    9. Water Flushing Program

      Adelanto Public Utility Authority in conjunction with PERC Water will be conducting a water distribution mainline flushing program over the next several months. Water flushing is water that is discharged to the ground through fire hydrants.
