UPDATE: Cannabis Excise Tax Due Dates

Effective November 1, 2020, tax remittance forms and payments are due quarterly.

Note: Failure to comply with Adelanto Municipal Code will result in the revocation of local and State permits.


Excise Tax Returns are a requirement for all active cannabis operations within the City of Adelanto. Returns with payment are required to be submitted by the 15th of each month following the month of activity. Tax forms can be downloaded using the following links:

For 2Q21 return due January 31, 2021, All Operators (except for Cultivators AND Retailers) should use this return to account for the lower tax rate in October 2020 (click below to download)

All cannabis permits are to be renewed annually. Please make an appointment with the Planning Department (NAllen@ci.adelanto.ca.us) to submit your renewal application.

Business licenses are to be renewed annually. You should receive an email reminder to renew. If you do not already have a Business License with the City of Adelanto, please download the application here:

You must have a Certificate of Occupancy to begin your cannabis operation. If you have any questions regarding your business Certificate of Occupancy, please contact DMartinez@ci.adelanto.ca.us.
