Responsible Pet Ownership

As Adelanto Animal Care and Control works to save the homeless animals of today, we as a community must work to reduce our overpopulation crisis for the animals of tomorrow.

Responsible pet ownership starts with you.

Responsibility What You Need to Do
Animal Limits Up to 3 dogs or 3 cats, not to exceed a combined total of 3 for most single family homes
Don’t Litter Clean up after your dog and properly dispose of pet waste
Leash Control your dog with a leash, not more than 6 feet long, when off your property
License License your dog and renew annually
Poultry Poultry and other caged and/or fenced fowl is restricted within City limits
Prevent Bites Avoid situations that may result in your pet biting someone
Spay / Neuter Spay/neuter your pets to control the over population of unwanted animals. More information about Spay or Neuter (PDF).
Vaccinate Keep your dog’s and cat’s vaccinations, especially rabies, up to date
